Tennis-Point is a German web shop for tennis gear and equipment. Launched in 2007 as a spinoff of a series of bricks-and-mortar tennis shops, the company became very successful in Germany selling tennis goods via their web shop, catalogues and growing dedicated physical outlets. In 2011, the company was awarded the prize for Germany’s “Best Web shop” during the German annual distance selling trade show (Versandhandelskongress). Tennis-Point collaborates with large tournaments and brands and successfully engages customers via social media including Facebook and YouTube.
Motivated by their German success, the company launched an English-language dotcom-site in order to kick off online sales internationally. In order to let the world know, they ran an ad campaign during the Australian Open matches on Eurosport, reaching out to 240 million viewers in 59 countries, speaking 20 languages.
